Place / Como, Italy
Year / 2009
Type / Competition by invitation – SECOND PRIZE
Status / Completed

The world famous Como waterfront has been designed as a new contemporary garden, an opportunity for citizens to experience nature from an aesthetic and emotional point of view.
From the city, our eyes are free to roam until the horizon, following the curves of the garden’s elements. A rhythm set by the progressive use of materials, measures, and shapes that are different one from the other, and which distinguishes both the architectural and the garden’s projects, bringing that complexity typical of a mansion’s garden to the scale of a whole city.

Place / Ancona, Italy
Year / 2011
Type / Open competition – THIRD PRIZE
Status / Completed

The project echoes the many riches of the city directly among the avenues, placing upon them symbols or actual elements that distinguish them, developing pathways that stretch from the avenues throughout the city and upon the hills, giving back to this axis the role of absolute centre of Ancona, the natural holding space of the environmental and cultural identity of the city and privileged point from which we can access any part of it.

How can we imagine a contemporary public space into fast growing cities, in between over scaled urban buildings and venues, where open spaces are mainly used by transportation?

The challenge is to fit, into the contemporary realms, a new way of public space that brings back and combines some of the lost urban qualities. A space with its own identity and internal quality.
