  • The Airport Nest

The unexpected placement of a kindergarten inside an airport becomes an opportunity to investigate the unusual relationship between a large infrastructure and a small service. The building is developed on two levels. On the ground floor, the long basement generates a small internal courtyard and defines the entrance. On the upper floor, within a single volume, there are the classrooms directly connected to the roof garden.

The concept involves the use of grits and tones in strong contrast to each other: the basement materials reflect the sky, while the upper part of the building incorporates textures and colors of the Apulian land.
